Okanagan Kids Care Members #GETLOUD for Mental Health

Kelowna, March 22, 2016 – Okanagan Kids Care has committed $7,970 towards #GETLOUD Toolkits for every middle and high school in School District 23, with a goal to see at least 5000 students pledge to #GETLOUD for mental health. [Read more…]

CMHA and BCHL Want Players to #TalkToday

CMHA Kelowna’s partnership with the West Kelowna Warriors continued last week with volunteers attending a game to cheer on the team and sell pucks to raise funds for mental health programs and services. The partnership is part of the BC-wide #TalkToday initiative encouraging athletes to be more aware of their mental health and seek help when they have concerns.

Previously, our community education facilitators have provided presentations to players and families (including billet families) on mental health, stigma reduction, and how to have those conversations with each other. We look forward to future educational opportunities with the West Kelowna Warriors.
