Mental Health First Aid Kit for Non-Professionals
Recently, CBC covered Mental Health First Aid: “Most people understand the need for first aid and how to give first aid before getting professional help … Mental health problems are really, really common. There is a lot of stigma out there about it and there is evidence that if you nip it in the bud and get at it early, it can prevent people from getting into something much more severe.”
This is a course that CMHA Kelowna is very proud to offer! To learn more, click here, give us a call, or send us an email! Community courses are held several times per year or you can schedule a course for your own group or workplace.

Ottawa to Offer All Staff Suicide Prevention Training
“Ottawa will become the first municipality in Canada to offer suicide prevention training to every employee, something public health officials would like to see become as common as CPR training.”
This is great to see! Providing training to staff helps to create a safer workplace, but that training also has the potential to help family members and the wider community.
