Monthly Forum on Mental Health

Talking about current mental health matters and influencing changes for a stronger system.

What is the Monthly Forum?

CMHA’s monthly forum is a regular opportunity to connect to people in our community who believe in the importance of mental health.

We meet to share what is happening in our city, region, and province. We can choose to discuss our successes, struggles, and needs with the mental health system as we work toward our best life.

Our experiences can help to influence the system, supporting what works well and shaping improvements to come.

How Do I Participate?

When: The Monthly Forum on Mental Health meets on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Where: The Canadian Mental Health Association’s Wellness Development Centre. 504 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, V1Y 5X1 (corner of Sutherland and Pandosy).

Registration is not required, but you can sign up to receive an email summary of every Monthly Forum and an automatic reminder for upcoming Forums by emailing [email protected]

Why Should I Participate?

At the monthly forum, you can:
• Learn more about mental health resources in our community;
• Share your current and past successes and challenges regarding the mental health system;
• Contribute to our effort to let decision makers know what works and what needs improving.

Stories and information shared at the forum will only be used if you consent. Help can be arranged for those who may want to share their story but need assistance to do so.

Connect

All people interested in mental health matters are welcome to attend. You will hear about the latest mental health news in our community and about available resources.

Share

Hear from the people involved in delivering our local mental health services and resources and share your experiences if you choose. A brief comment, a private conversation, or a full story can all make a difference.

Influence

Each meeting is an opportunity to shape the decisions being made on the future and direction of mental health services. Once per year, we also invite important local decision makers to join us and talk directly about our successes and concerns.
