CMHA Kelowna has been housing vulnerable people in Kelowna for more than twenty years.
Housing
We proudly operate five buildings that provide housing and a variety of supports for those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. CMHA Kelowna is determined to create a safe and inclusive community where everyone has a place to call home.
Youth Services (In Partnership with A Way Home Canada)
We have two streams of service available for youth aged 16-24 who are experiencing, or are at risk of experiencing homelessness: Rapid Rehousing and Housing First for Youth. These services are designed to support youth with finding and maintaining housing that is safe, affordable, and appropriate, as well as provide youth with supports that focus on wellness and social inclusion.
Central Okanagan Rent Bank
The Central Okanagan Rent Bank offers interest-free repayable loans as well as access to relevant support services to eligible renters in the Central Okanagan who are experiencing short-term financial difficulties.
Prevention & Diversion
We provide short-term financial assistance for up to 3 months through a Rent Supplement or a one-time Utility Relief subsidies. For individuals and families who may be at risk of homelessness.
Homelessness Services
Funded by BC Housing and the Central Okanagan Foundation, our Homelessness Service team works in collaboration with other community agencies in order to best meet the needs of this vulnerable population. We do this through:
- Homelessness Outreach Navigator
The first point of contact for individuals who are experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. - Case Management (Housing First, Rapid Rehousing & Market Rental Supportive Housing)
Our team provides recovery-oriented and harm reduction focused case management and housing support to complex and vulnerable individuals. - Scattered Sites Program
CMHA Kelowna works with community landlords and acts as the leaseholder in order to provide housing for those can live independently but with some support.
