Supporting a Mentally Healthy Kelowna
Sometimes the world can feel like it’s working at odds with our mental health. When we strive, day in and day out, to tackle the elements of our well-being that are within our control – world events can sometimes feel like a sucker punch when we’re looking the other way.
That sometimes feels like right now.
A local moving company has started a fundraising campaign to clean up the community. Brett + Buddies Moving and Junk Removal is pledging to rid Okanagan neighbourhoods, alleys and parks of litter and junk that has been left behind. In return, they are asking for donations to the Kelowna branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Brett Waldherr, owner of Brett + Buddies, has been a supporter of the mental health organization for the past 2 years. “Whenever we have furniture that our moving clients no longer need, we pass it along to CMHA Kelowna.” Waldherr and his team have supported more than 100 CMHA Kelowna housing residents with good quality, usable furniture. “We know that CMHA Kelowna provides housing for more than 200 people in our community and we want to help them do that – because everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place they can call home.”
