Self-Help Tools

Mental health requires striking a balance in all aspects of your life: social, physical, spiritual, economic and mental. Focusing exercises, relaxation, and stress reduction techniques all play a part in maintaining our mental health.

For additional information, click here to visit our resource page.

Many of our workshops also promote self-care, recovery, and caregiver skills. View our workshop selection by clicking here.

Bounce Back

Bounce Back: Reclaim Your Health™ is a free skills-building program for adults experiencing low mood or stress with or without anxiety. It offers two kinds of evidence-based self-help:

  • “Living Life to the Full” DVD: 45-minute video with 8 sections that provide practical tips on recognizing and dealing with depressive thoughts, behaviours, and events. Available in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (check out the preview in 6-minute clip below).
  • Workbooks with Telephone-Coaching: 3 to 5 self-selected sessions that introduce and reinforce the application of cognitive-behavioral strategies for improving mood by overcoming difficulties such as inactivity, insomnia, worry, and unhelpful thinking.
