The Tomato Project

June 29, 2016 By Leave a Comment

IMG_1750On April 21st, 2016 the Central Okanagan Food Policy Council (COFPC) hosted an event called From Field to Fork to Research and launched the Food Quilt.  This event drew a big crowd of people passionate about the health of our local food system. Participant Christmas Celebration a Huge Success!

December 3, 2015 By Leave a Comment

ChristmasCelebrationEach year, the Kelowna branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, in partnership with the Mental Health Department of Interior Health Kelowna, hosts a Christmas Celebration for our program participants. For many, this is the only celebration they experience during this holiday season.

Thank you for making our Christmas Celebration a HUGE success! 210 program participants of CMHA Kelowna and the Mental Health Department of Interior Health were able to enjoy a nutritious meal, some holiday cheer, and received a small gift. Events such as these can provide opportunities for community connection and can reduce isolation – both of which are important on the road to recovery from mental health issues.

We originally anticipated 150 attendees but, thankfully, your generosity helped us exceed our goals for 2015 and no one was left out.

THANK YOU!
